PROJECTS
TEACHING ENGLISH
One UCF student was paired with two UNACH students to teach a class of 15-20 middle school students. Each group had its own lesson plans that focused on fun icebreakers, sentence construction, and basic vocabulary. Each class also discussed future education and career paths.
PLAYING FRISBEE
Irene took the lead on this project, where she taught the students at Corazon de Maria how to throw, catch, and play Ultimate Frisbee. The rules of the sport were modified to fit the needs of the children. At the end of the trip, all frisbees used for instruction were donated to the school.
RAISING AWARENESS
In partnership with a local community in Chiapas, Denielle and Ash created a video to raise awareness for Israel, a twelve year old boy who received surgery for a brain tumor. Follow his journey by going to Projects -> Israel's Story.
