Today was our free day so we were all able to sleep in. 😴 At noon, Mary Ann met us at our house and we took a collectivo to a local cemetery. Instead of tombstones, there were little houses dedicated a person/family. They were very colorful and each one was different; there were a few that looked like mini castles. It was beautiful. There were also some places that had raised concrete with a cross, tombstone, and flowers. We visited one statue dedicated to Enedina Garcia, who was a witch killed in 1900. There's a myth about the sirens on her tomb that once they're all rubbed away, Enedina's spirit will haunt everyone. A few of us then went to lunch nearby and the market for the final time. Dr. Wang came over later and cooked goat, rice, and lentils for dinner, and we all talked about our plans for the week. Ash and Denielle bought ants and crickets at a local store so some of us tried them: they were crunchy and seasoned well.
