We all woke up at 6 am today because we went to Tonina and had to be at Dr. Wang's hotel at 7:45. The bus ride there was about 2.5 hours and there were so many potholes, speed bumps, and curves. We had to stop twice because a few of us got sick, but we saw a lot of animals on the way there. When we got to Tonina, there were cows and people riding horses. We had a tour guide who made a few stops along the way to tell us about the temple's history; we learned about sleeping arrangements in the the temple, sacrifices and games, and the meaning of different symbols. It took us about an hour and a half to climb all the way to the top: there were at least 100 stairs and they were all super steep. At the top, we took a bunch of pictures and the view was amazing because there were mountains everywhere. We went to a restaurant afterwards that also had a beautiful view of the mountains. Everyone slept on the bus ride back because we were all so exhausted.

Starting the climb to the top of Tonina!
